„Pavienės bitės“(Solitary Bee)

Yes, it is a movie about bees, but not about the ones you know well about honey.
These are bees that live one by one, or just a few adjacent individuals, and they always build their own houses, otherwise they are called solitary bee solitary bees.
This is my second film, which took three years, one of my longest works, and the original version was even longer, about an hour and a half before I finally cut to 51 minutes.
It's a three-part film. In the first part, "Gaurotakoye bees", in the second part "Silk woolen" (Sakai bee), and the third part - "Birch leaf cutting bee".
You agree, not all of them have heard of them.
When I created this film, I was faced with a number of major problems, a lack of information, especially in the second part of the film, where I tell about resin bees.
Therefore, in fact, all the second story is my observation experience.
Another difficulty is the speed of the bees, some movie episodes filming 120-240 frames per second and that's not what I managed to shoot.
For example, domestic bees work with more distributed functions: one honeycomb rays, the other carries honey, the other carries out other jobs, and the life of a single bee in a single female. Until this day, I do not understand how leaf cutting bee is able to cut a sheet of wood, how it is shipped, skilfully twisted, cut round or oval holes, turning the so-called cage into a hideout. Then there pollen and then helps the egg. When I created the film, I tried to show that not only the man has invented everything, invented, for example, the tunnel system. It is obvious that bees started to build tunnels much earlier than a man.

In 2013, the film "Solitary Bee" was awarded the award of P.Abukevičius as the best film of the year about Lithuanian nature.

I can say about this stage of the creative, so go to the unfamiliar world of bees, which continues until now, as I keep watching them, filming. And in the plans, the sequel of the film, only the film, collects very slowly.
